New Year's Eve Crafts

I hope that you all had a good Christmas! We had a very nice one. But now that one Holiday is over, the next is only a few days away! Are you ready for the New Year? Here are a few crafts to get you in the party mood!

Party Blower
1. Cut the paper 1" by 4".
2. Roll up around a pencil and tape together, Slide off of the pencil.
3. Flatten the roll. Tape the end closed.
4. Roll up and blow!

Party Hat
1. Cut out half of a circle. You may want to trace something for this. The bigger the circle, the bigger the hat!
2. Twist into a cone shape, trim the ends, and wear!

We also made eyeglasses and confetti. Everything is so easy to make, so you can make plenty for everyone! You can also decorate and add your own touches to all of the crafts. Making it is where the fun begins!

Do you make any New Year's Eve crafts? We would love to hear about them! Just leave a comment below. Happy New Year's Eve!

Cloves and Clementines

Clementines and oranges are some of our favorite winter fruits. But they don't always get eaten right away. Filling them with cloves is a great craft to do with the leftovers! It's really easy, and a lot of  fun to do. The fruits add a splash of color to any wall, and they smell great too!

You'll need:
A few clementines or oranges (You can use other citrus fruits too!)
Cloves (As many as needed)
Ribbon (Or something else to tie it up with)
(Optional) A small pin or nail (Be careful!)

Tie the ribbon around the fruit first. This can be in any way that you want, but just wrapping it around is usually easiest.

Then fill with cloves! You may need to use the pin or nail to prick the holes first, before you push in the cloves. Be sure to have help!
And be creative in your designs! You can do stripes, or stars, hearts, or whatever else you can think of!

Tie the ribbons together and hang up. I added a bell to mine, and you can add anything else that you want!

Enjoy for the holidays!

I'm Back! And...

Sorry for the unannounced break. We've been having internet problems, but it's now fixed!
But, while I was gone, I did make up a few things! First, new printables! And made especially for the holiday season.

I don't have a calender made up yet, but I should have it soon.
And a new doll picture! The old one was grainy, and I finally got around to taking a new one. What do you think?

And a sneak peek for the next ebook. Any guesses??

Oven Pancake

Oven pancakes are a family favorite around here. They are super easy to mix up, and taste great with almost anything on top!

We usually make them in pie plates, but I decided to try and make doll-sized ones in muffin tins.

They didn't turn out quite like I thought, but they still tasted good!

And my dolls enjoyed them!

November Calendar and...

Well, it's already time for November. Did you have a good doll-oween? Even though we didn't really dress up, we still had a lot of fun!
Here is this month's calendar! I will be posting some things from it, although I might not do all of them. Do you like to do any of it?

November 2012 Calendar

You can get it by using the link above it, then right click on the picture, save to your computer, then set as desktop. Have fun!

And now for the surprise that I've been hinting at. Any guesses? The answer is..... Freebies!! We have a new page set up just full of fun stuff to do. Each one is a doll-sized printable that's easy to make. Fill your doll's bookshelves with books, send a note to a friend, or celebrate a birthday. Some of the crafts are trickier then others, so make sure that there's an adult to watch. I'm always looking for more ideas, so if you have any, leave a comment, and might just be the next one I make!

I hope that you have fun with the downloads, and have a great November!

Autumn Photos

Are you all having a good autumn? I hope so! The leaves are mostly gone from our trees now, but I was able to find a few more to photograph. What's your favorite part about fall?

Are you all enjoying the October Calendar as well? The days go by so fast! I'll have to start working on November's soon. :)
Have fun with the autumn days!

Yesterday's Photos

I was going through some old pictures and found some of my dolls. It's a great reminder of all of the fun that we've had! And it's nice to see how much my photography has improved. :)

Do you enjoy taking pictures of your dolls? No matter what your photography looks like now, with practice, everything gets better! I love playing with my dolls, and I'll be able to look back at these pictures and remember these times. Because I won't always have time to play with them. But when I do, I'll take pictures. :)

P.S. The instructions for the apron can be found in the Baking e-book, and the headband can be found in the Sewing e-book!
P.P.S. A surprise is coming soon!!

Beaded Flower Bracelet

I've long liked the look of the beaded flowers that I've seen on bracelets and rings, but never knew how to make one. I finally taught myself how to and thought I'd share the instructions with all of you!

First, choose your colors. You'll need beads for the bracelet, a different color for the flower, and a different color for the center. Even though summer has ended, it would be so easy to make this into an autumnal flower by using fall colors!
I'm using green, pink, and yellow.

Start making your bracelet with the colors that you want. Stop where you want to add the flower.

String on six beads in the color of the petals.

Thread the string or elastic through the first flower bead so that it passes through twice.

String on the center bead.

Thread the string or elastic through the fourth flower bead, or the one in the middle.

Pull tight, then finish making the bracelet.

Slip on your (or your doll's) arm, and wear proudly!

Mini Oatmeal Apple Crisps

Remember the mini caramel apples that we made last month?

We had so much fun cutting out the apples, dipping them in the caramel, and finally eating them. But when you're done cutting up the apples, you still have apples left over. Now, you could just eat them, or you could make mini oatmeal apple crisps!

They were really good, and the perfect treat to make with the left over apples. Here's the recipe!

Mini Oatmeal Apple Crisps

1 pkg instant oatmeal (if you have flavored ones, you could use those here too! I used cinnamon flavor)
1 1/2 tsp softened butter + 1/2 tsp
pinch each of cinnamon and nutmeg
Apple bits

Set aside 1 tbls of oatmeal for later. Then mix together the rest of that and the 1 1/2 tsp butter. Pat into mini muffin cups.

Slice up the apples into those.

Then mix together the rest of the oatmeal that you set aside, the 1/2 tsp butter and the spices. Crumble on top.

Bake at 350 degrees for about 15-20 minutes, or until the apples are soft. Then let cool and enjoy! We drizzled some caramel over some of ours, but you could use anything that you would like.

You can also mix it up a bit. Use different spices, try other toppings, or even use another filling. Be creative! You can make almost anything.

Have fun!
