Easter Decorations

On the calendar for the 13th was 'make Easter decorations'. Even though that was last week, we made some decorations, and thought that we'd post them! We made so many fun things, and I know that we'll use them for many Easters after this.

First, we made an Easter egg banner with scrapbook paper, glitter glue, and ribbon. The glue made a bit of a mess, but they turned out cute anyway!

We used paper and stickers to make small pictures that we framed with yarn. Even though these aren't really for Easter, they're just right for spring.

And then we made hair ties! We used clear elastic, then glued on felt shapes. Marissa made a butterfly,

and Robin made a clover for St. Patrick's day.

We also made Easter baskets, which we got from the Doll Diaries site. They were just so cute that we had to make them! We even found mini Easter cupcake liners for the little girls.

They both had flowers on the bottom of them. The green one is Marissa's and the blue one is Robin's.

We had fun making them, and the girls had fun filling them!

Do you have a favorite Easter decoration? Have you made any new ones for this year?
Watch out for some of these decorations in the new ebook!

Remade Headband

I was going through a drawer full of craft things yesterday, and realized that I had a headband that needed remaking. It had been one of my favorites, but there was paint on it that I couldn't get off. So I took off the old fabric, put on some new fabric, and remade my headband!

I used an old wide-band headband, white cloth from an old t-shirt, and a bit of the hook Velcro.

I cut the cloth to fit the headband, and made the ends a little longer.

Then I used a hot-glue gun to glue it on, folding up the ends so that they wouldn't show when I wear it,

then trimmed the extra fabric and did a bit more gluing.

The Velcro was glued to the side, and it was finished!

The only thing left to do was to make some decorations for it. I already had these ones, but I'm ready to make some more! Felt works well because it will stick to the Velcro. But it you wanted to use something else, then just put a bit of the fuzzy Velcro on your piece, and stick it on!

Have you made anything old into something new? What was your favorite thing about it? Leave a comment and let us know!

I had fun making the headband, and can't wait to make more decorations for it!

You can right-click on the calendar below, or go to the web albums. Then just save to your desktop, and set as the background image.
Do you have a favorite activity to do in the spring? This month's calendar is full of fun things to do. So do a few, or do all of them, and have fun!
