Outside My Window

This week outside my window,

I have a little goldfinch rain gauge.

It was in our garden, but this year I asked if I could have it.

Mom said yes, so now I have

a little bird peeking in my window!

Isn't she sweet?

Iris Blooms

Outside our front door, and to the left, we have a few

flowers. Among them are lillies, peonies, and irises.

Our irises just started blooming yesterday.

Homemade Lemonade

Homemade lemonade is so delicious!

Yesterday, my brothers and I made some.

It took us a long time to juice the lemons,

and we didn't get as much juice as we thought we would,

but we had fun and got some yummy lemonade as a reward!

Here is the recipe:

Lemonade

1 cup sugar

6 cups water

1 cup lemon juice

1. Heat the sugar and water on the stove until the sugar dissolves.

Let cool.

2. In the meantime, juice the lemons. We used about 10 small ones.

3. Mix everything together in a pitcher and taste.

Add more sugar or lemon juice if needed.

4. Add ice and enjoy!
